In 1881 Kintaro Hattori opened a clock shop Tokyo’s Ginza district and sets the floor for modern watch make and design in Japan. At this time the brand was called Seikosha. This small shop is a direct ancestor of today’s Seiko Corporation, Tokyo, which is the parent company of Seiko Corporation of America. Around 1912, the founder of Seiko (Kintaro) began to become obsessed over finding a way to make a Japanese wristwatch, rather than just clocks. Finally after decades of master clock technology, Seiko begins producing the first wristwatch made in Japan. Seiko, already known for its accuracy and craftsmanship, produces the first self winding watches in Japan! Seiko a bran which has kept ahead in the watch making business, always coming out with new technology to make the life of current day much more convenient. Take for example the Seiko “Flight Computer.” This watch does navigation computations, fuel consumption calculations, and is capable of going 200 meters under water and so much more. This watch is made for the man who is on his feet and keep track of where is going, specially for the people of the sky. Another watch that deserves a good consideration: Sieko’s Perpetual Calendar. A very nice look time piece which accurately keeps track of the month and date automatically, it even auto adjusts for leap years. Clearly a watch for the business man, or anyone who likes a professional way of tracking the time!
