In 1845 Adolph Lange founded his watch shop in Glashutte, Germany. One hundred years later the factory was
destroyed during World War II bombing raid. It was his grandson, Walter Lange, who brought back the family legacy. Fifteen years later, Lange created the first genuine split second chronograph (rattapante). The entire supply of Lange products is in limited supply. Gold versions are easier to find than platinum.
Preowned pieces are few and normally command 60% of their retaiL price. It would appear that an interested buyer would have to amble into a few jewelry stores to see if they even exist. Obviously they are on the market but little is given in the way of publicity to entice one enough to be
interested unless, of course, one cared to list all the stores and webs that carry all varieties of watches.
